Vascular Lab

The Cardiovascular Services (CVS) Department at Sanford USD Medical Center has received program accreditation from the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). As the first accredited vascular lab in the region, CVS remains at the forefront of diagnostic services. The qualified and registered staff at Sanford demonstrates their competency by maintaining ongoing continuing education after successfully completing a national registry examination in their areas of specialty. The vascular lab performs monthly correlations with other non-invasive and invasive departments throughout Sanford USD Medical Center. This ongoing process guarantees accuracy of our ultrasound testing. In addition, all employees complete department skill checklists and peer reviews as required by the ICAVL. Currently CVS has 16 sonographers registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
